So, this Judge is Dabney Freidrich. She was SUPER qualified and while Trump nominated was Senate confirmed 97-3.
Not a partisan hack. She’s went to Trinity, Oxford, and Yale. Was on Obama’s sentencing commission. was an assistant US attorney.
I’m sure she’s conservative. But someone of her stature is predictably surrounded by a wealthy spouse* and hasn’t been hurting for money in a long time.
Hate on her decision, as the opinion is not great and uses kind of the opposite logic she used on a Mueller Report case.
But I’d be very surprised if this Judge was a landlord. It’s not really what someone like that gets into.
| “Friedrich’s spouse, Matthew, is chief legal officer at UnitedHealth Group with past stints at Chevron and Cognizant, an outsourcing company. His current salary is not available, but records show he made $7 million in 2017 as chief legal officer for Cognizant. Because of incentive compensation that put him into vaunted status at the company, Cognizant had to disclose his income for that year, but not for other years. During his time at Cognizant, the company faced an investigation into violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which it eventually paid $25 million to resolve in 2019.”
So her husband makes $10m per year. $3m home is nothing for them.
